Amenorrhea / Absent Menses
 

Amenorrhea is the absence of menstruation, often defined as missing one or more menstrual periods. Primary amenorrhea refers to the absence of menstruation in someone who has not had a period by age 15. The most common causes of primary amenorrhea relate to hormone levels. Secondary amenorrhea refers to the absence of three or more periods in a row by someone who has had periods in the past. Hypomenorrhea – Light or scanty menses
 

Hypomenorrhea also known as scanty menstruation is a medical condition that is characterized by extremely light flow of blood during menstruation and the duration of menstruation may be shortened also, in which the volume of bloody discharge does not exceed 50 ml. The blood may appear red, pink, brown, or even rust-like, Bleeding through 1 or more tampons or pads each hour for more than two consecutive hours, Losing more than 80 milliliters of blood during your period instead of 35-40 milliliters, Symptoms of anemia, such as tiredness, fatigue or shortness of breath.

Metrorrhagia - Intermenstrual Bleeding

Metrorrhagia, now commonly called intermenstrual bleeding (bleeding between period), is vaginal bleeding that occurs at irregular intervals not associated with the menstrual cycle. White discharge – Leukorrhea

Irregular menses
 

Irregular periods/menses include periods that occur fewer than 21 days or more than 35 days apart, missing three or more periods in row, and menstrual flow that’s much heavier or lighter than usual. Many things cause irregular menstruation such as changes in hormone levels, stress, certain health conditions, medications like pelvic inflammatory disease, PCOS, endometriosis, uterine fibroid, hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, uterine or ovarian cancer or bleeding disorder. Length of time between cycles varies by more than nine days. For example, one cycle is 28 days, the next is 37 days and the next is 29 days. Periods that are accompanied by severe pain, cramping, nausea or vomiting. Bleeding or spotting that happens between periods, after menopause or after sexual intercourse.

Puberty
